Its all about boolean....

Its all recorded in human brains.. some good some bad.. some very good few worst ...
and we live every day.. to recall every little incidence that have been cause of your happiness.... no its rare.. nothing changes.. only changes is faces of people whom u get associated.. characters remain same.. u end up feeling same thing.. nothing new.. escalated with happiness some time .. over joyed.. and some times in to deep shit...
You keep running from things in u r life.. . and it keeps chasing for life..and u end up comfortably landing in to the things that u wanted to avoid.. and u feel the same.. its wrong to be honest... its crime to be brutally honest... u might end up getting every thing u wanted right or wrong in life but through out you missing on what u truly deserved..where to narrow on what to narrow.. will remain a mystery.. and then u realize that its all about making choices.. good bad.. right wrong ... yes no.. life is all about Boolean.. one step closer miles away.....

But you need to move.. not to regret. but to move... regret will only consume u ....

The Urban Experience

Urban Experience... As part of Partial Submission for Theory of Design Semester III Urban Design Course....

Ahmedabad... 19th September 20008

My tryst with Mumbai lasted for 3 years cumulatively. During this I stayed and worked in different parts of city. I always liked Mumbai not because of its crowd but because no body matters to any body. It’s the city of achievement, Place to get recognized, Place of Opportunity.

Not every one succeeds but majority of people are found chasing their dreams and live with hope till end. It’s never to give up attitude of the people in the city that makes it a place to live. It’s rightly said ‘in Mumbai you may not sleep empty stomach but to find a place to sleep is …..Difficult’..

But in spite of being aware of this fact thousands of people keep coming to Mumbai.. And what brings to Mumbai with them is diversity.

The best place to experience this diversity is Colaba, South of Mumbai. It is one of the liveliest desired places to be in Mumbai. This place stays alive through out the day. I stayed at Colaba for two years and I religiously strolled through this place every day. The day in Colaba would start by thousands of people pouring in from entire Mumbai for work, shop, study and entertain. The stretch which I would like to talk about is from Regal Cinema till Theo brome Café and then toward Gate Way Promenade end, starting from Radio Club to Gate Way of India and then back to Regal Cinema Square.

5.30 Am to 11.00 AM

This Place wears different character in different parts of the day. The Day stars with domestic workers, shop workers, Vendors and office going people arriving at Colaba few via Church Gate and Few in Cabs and Few in their Swanky cars and branded clothes. Even though they are from different walks of life they have one thing in common that’s ‘hurry’ on their faces. Every on is in maddening rush, to reach their destination. And they do it all five days, few unfortunate one does it six times a day.

11.00 AM to 7.00 PM

This is the time to shops on Colaba Cause way to open up for business. They hardly see customer till 12.00 PM but by this time we have informal shopping opening up under the promenade in front of the branded show rooms. It is the best place to buy in fashion clothes, jewellery’s, sunglasses, magazines and every thing on this earth. It is famously said you ask for moon and Mumbaikar would have it to sell it to you. And this can be aptly said for the Kerelaite who storm this street. Every one who’s, who of Mumbai has bought some thing or the other from this place. This place is majorly crowded by foreigners by this time and college students.

What you can not miss is the beautiful girls, all fashion statement on street in one go, and fragrances of expensive colognes and perfumes mixed with stinging sweating bodies. You need not be fortunate to walk/ shop/ eat with celebrity on this street.

In between these hours of shopping and roaming activity of foreigners, the lunch break of office people adds on more layers to it. By this time this office goers are pretty relaxed as either they have punched their entry or have signed their musters and don’t have desire to rush back.

And again by 5.00 PM till late 8.30 PM its maddening crowd on both ways. People retuning to their places rushing towards Church Gate station and others coming in huge numbers to spent their evening at Gateway Promenade, Few to shop, few to enjoy the place, few to theatre, few to eat( as it has got the finest places to eat, drink and party) and few for flesh and drug trading.

8.30 PM Till Late Night

This is the time when the shoppers are in rush to grab things and rush for movie or to eat. But the different shades of this place can be observed with all type of illegal activity happening in front of naked eyes, where you are witness to it but you fail even to have air of it. In middle of the entire maddening crowd you have pimps, drug peddlers, prostitutes, pick pocketer’s, criminals and people making fake passports for foreign tourist. This entire people are part of crowd. The best places to locate them is in Café Mondegar and Café Leopold, few gangsters would be at Bade Miyan, best eatery joint behind Taj Hotel. What surprises you is where do the flesh trading happens, where do the drug peddler sale drugs. To your surprise they are around you, near you, one lane away. You enter the narrow lanes of famous hotels on to Merry Weather Street and you end up in Brothels. You take a turn for Taj Hotel and you have drug peddlers to sale you your choice. And when this all is happening you want to know where the police would be. And there they are bang opposite the Café Leopold. You can not miss them, they are also part of crowd but they have brilliant ignorant eyes to over look these activities.

And looking for time you realise its 11.00 PM time to go back to sleep, but place is still young and seems to have just started, struggling in your mind whether to go back or to hang on for more you would be stoped by fancy car, wind shield moving down asking you ” Way to Poly Easter”, ” Way to Insomnia”, ” Way to Red light” or ”Way to Bade Miya or Ayub’s”, This are the most visited places in Colaba. And If you thing only this are the people forming the place here after , then you are wrong as Taj Hotel is hosting a celebrity party, where who is who of Mumbai is invited, Inidgo is hosing party of Bollywood Celebrity, and Radio Club has to host rich and elite of Mumbai. What you can not ignore to see and feel empathy is the migrants with their small hungry kids sleeping in promenade, whose food and donated money to them is take away by their drug addict father, a differently abled asking for alms, taxi walas waiting last show of regal to end, few waiting for Discothèque to close for the day.

At 2.00 AM as police intertwine all the pubs would be closed, party’s would end, and all the celebrities would come down at Promenade looking at the roaring or calm sea, sipping the 3 rupee cahi from the vendor selling on promenade, buying ‘butta’ from street, their grim faces which were almost happiest on earth, a while ago, speaking volumes out their heart, and finally police evacuating the promenade till late 4.00 AM in the morning. The taxi starts speeding up against the calm night, back to their business charging people back home.

And if you think city have slept, then its time for flesh trading victims to return to their homes by the first train of morning. That’s 4.30 AM in the morning. And then again it’s the same routine as day has al eady begun in the sky, WHEN HAS THIS PLACE (COLABA) SLEPT THEN?

Being a witness to all these episodes of Colaba, its an true urban experience to have afresh in mind in the city that never sleeps.

Over The Cup Of Coffee........

I did not believe in love.... i need not believe in love...
who made it to happen .. and why did anyone let it happen....
its not usual what has happened but would some one tell me .. who wanted this.... to happen....
we did meet to be happy for a while or to be unhappy for ever....
the happiness is not what i get always.. so then why it has to be so short to happen.....
will i remember u, when u go....but then will i forget you....
and if i have to forget you then why did i happen to meet you...
i thanked God for making me happy for a while.... but he intended me to taste the happyines to lament forever...
no i am not worried to live in pain..... it has always been there... i just ask him then why did the happiness had to happen....to realize the pain....
Let me be mean ... let me stop the clock..... but then will i value happyness that is so good to have...for what ever little while....
or wish God to take me away with him unnoticed unlamented.. so i could be happy to see u from the sky ....
and should i wish u to make some one happy or u to be mine...
if God want me to believe in love then He has to see some one happy... but when ever u see in the sky .. u would see me... if u roll a drop from u r eyes.. don't wipe .... it would be me ... to kiss u ... to feel u .. to hug u ...to feel u ..... don't wipe it.. it would be me.. enveloping u in thinnest and slightest way...let me feel... till i vanish for some one to be happy...
Finally i raise my eyes and ask Him.. then way cant i touch her feel her when i love her...
He says your are not destined to be happy... after all every one cannot be happy.....
so if it was not destined to happen then why did that happen.................

The Historical Black Day.....

30th June...
New Delhi....
This is last day of my stay at Delhi.... Nice place.. with excess of beautiful girls.. i was almost confused for last one month.. where to look.. whom to look... was saved so many times getting run off by speeding cars......which i wish would have... before waking up this morning...

This morning I started flipping through news paper.. what made me sad was an article published on bottom of front page in one of the leading news paper...It goes like these....
Maintenance for Live in Partner
New Delhi: A woman in a live-in relation ship should be entitled to maintenance if she is deserted by her man ,the national commission for Women has said . In far reaching recommendation to the ministry of women and child development, the commission has sought a change in the definition of "Wife"- as described in Section 125 CrPC, which deals with the maintenance- and suggested that it include women involved in a live-in relationships.
NCW also sought another significant amendment to Section 125,saying that said adultery should no longer be a ground for denying maintenance to a woman.

Now let me read between the lines :

Maintenance for Live in Partner ( with picture of two love birds standing on broken heart..i hope it was not meant for any sadistic pleasure)
It was the first news i read and soon got unsettled... ... reading ahead....
NewDelhi: A woman in a live-in relation ship should be entitled to maintenance if she is deserted by her man( no mention of what happens if she dumps her man) ,the national commission for Women has said( i wish there was some commission for Men too). In far reaching recommendation to the ministry of women and child development, the commission has sought a change in the definition of "Wife"( i hope they have not changed definition of husband.... any way even if it happens ..it would be more meaningful then present one....now all selfish people in love need to check whether girl friend is exempted from definition of wife or next time you express your love to female and get informed by law that she is your legal wife..... i hope its still an independent term), - as described in Section 125 CrPC, which deals with the maintenance- and suggested that it include women involved in a live-in relationships.
And now ... Married men please be aware....
NCW also sought another significant amendment to Section 125,saying that said adultery should no longer be a ground for denying maintenance to a woman. ( now see what would happen..man has live in relation ship.. female proves... becomes his law full wife... now man want to separate and walks over her or in other case she dumps him.. in both condition she gets maintenance, and even she plans to have multiple relation ship ( i.e., adultery... literal meaning infidelity, disloyalty, betrayal... she can still walk away with maintenance........... so she earns, if employed.. is paid maintenance by ex-boyfriend/ ex-husband... and is supported by current relationship.. why do some relation ship need so much of maintenance...)

Article also says few more para.. but of no use... its just repetition... but the real issue i see here is my belief in idea of live in relation ship under serious threat.... if i start living with some female.. she would be bigger threat then legally wedded wife....tomorrow she walks over me for some one and i have to pay for their romance...
But think about the apathy of man presently having live in relation ship with a prostitute.... and think about all the concept of keep... and now some seriously thinking... about Vikarm Bhaat if taken to law....will have to maintain his divorced wife, maintain Sushmita sen.. and now also Amisha Patel... .... imagine if aishwarya rai was not wedded to Abhisek bachaan.. so there would have been.. Mark Robinsoon, Salman Khan, Vivek Oberoi and Abhishek Bachhan to maintain her... Jesus... Such an Expensive Affair.. .........

So finally a black day of Live In relationships has arrived.. need for some other concept... i guess contract marriage.... I hope National Commission for Women have yet not thought about it...
Guys time to rush to court.... need to carry current dated stamp paper( hope fully u don't buy one printed by Abdul Karim Telgi) of minimum rupee 100... you never know when u are in love.......
...................................... finally.....liberated females have arrived.....

When Alcohol Is Must.....

24th June, 2008
New Delhi....
Lets go back to my Undergraduate Days.... wow...every body would feel about it.. but me.. oh no... i was almost 25 when i entered architecture.. thanks to my girlfriend who wanted to see me as an architect...she is no more with me ...she turned out to be wiser then i could have expected her to be... ( I was around with, kids 8 years younger to me.... so usually i would feel like uncle to them.. thanks to my physical growth which had stopped at early 21 and i managed all five years looking young among kids...except the age jokes i never felt as old as i was.... ) So i was in my third year(2003)... and had shifted to Ramtek ( college is at out skirts of this small town near Nagpur.. in Maharastra.. ) .... any body qualifying for graduation from this place requires either to be sinful in early age, past life or is destined to be one, i assure u ...even if u fail there after to visit any holy place in your life time .. any sinful act of u r's is u r lawful right...

So back to story...
I had few friend's whom still i cherish, and am still friends with them,. all were my class mates.. I would introduce four of them in this article and few more in near future...
We had our final exams.... thats sixth semester... and my two good friends..
meet... Avinash, a brilliant architect and Kirti, an all rounder( i u feel to be robbed by u r self then please take him as company to get drunk).... and Me, Karim...all three had this glorious time of celebrating end of every subject exam by getting drunk, it was almost a rule. But as our resources were limited, we would kill our thirst by obeying our limited budget.. but we never let down vijay mallaya by not celebrating the grand occasion. But as good time comes to an end.. every one was running short of money.. and a fear of disturbing our digestive system was frustrating.. and finally it happened..and all three of us did not had any money... no money means no money.. even beggars in Ramtek were richer then us by their standards...
We had still one more occasion to celebrate before we go home.. after our last exam,we three looked dejectedly at each other and left to our respective places ( they both stayed on campus hostel.. and me a day scholar )... same day.. at 3 PM in the summer of May month.. there was a thunder storm on my door as some body was in great rush to barge ...i was sleeping and so i did not wanted even Rakhi Sawant to disturb me... so job was left to my room mate, Nitin, he opens the door and soon i am woken up by Kirti and Avinash.... Avinash" abey kya soo raha hai bey... chal daru pete hai.." i was happily shocked to hear that...but then collecting back my senses... i asked him" abey paise kidhar se aye..." Kirti and Avinash looked at each other as they have won wimblolden mens double. and both together" who hume hostel ke teen gadhe (Mattress) bech diye"... Me... "kya.. kiske.. kisko... ( i hope ekta kapoor , karan johar or rakesh roshan do not open my blog)....Avinash"abey mishra ka, kranti ka or pratimesh ka.. "( exept mishra other two are my batch mates and mishra the 'coolest' dude of my batch , also my class mate, deserves a complete dedicated chapter, exclusively to his character, an unique one .. thanks Kunal for saving me from mishra....Kunal, a very good friend of mine, my roomie in hostel and right now i am posting this article from his place)... instead of thinking were all three would sleep , i shamelessly inquired the amount collected..it was mere 150/- .... i told them i don't have any remains of money and which we needed more .. i was actually calculating the amount we need to buy alcohol, snacks and cold drink... 150/- impossible.... suddenly a notion of calling out for some heavenly help went across my mind.. trust me there was One... i saw Nitin going out... so i asked him "kaha ja rahah hai.." Nitin " soap karidne...".. i instantly wanted to believe in presence of heavenly help... " kitne ka kahridhga" i asked.. " 20 rupees ka... " he replied... i jumped out of my bed.. ran to my bag.. took out a soap and handing over to him i said" de 20 rupees.." my partners in crime could sign relief as our grand total had swelled by 20 valuable rupees ...i thanked Nitin for his humanitarian concern and for his timely help.. as the soap was not his brand but he would tolerate it for being a friend in need....
We 3 came out... discussing how we could wisely spend the money...finally we figured out... 2 bottles of cheapest alcohol.. no not desi... no cold drinks.... and then there was main issue about snacks...
so we went to near by grocery shop and bought snacks worth 20 rupees.... and as i was about to pay him i instinctly obliged him for making payment latter... and by this time i guess many more heavenly powers have taken up my request, he agreed... so here we are .... 3 good friends with 170/- rupees and Yamaha full with petrol ... and snack worth rupees 20/-.......

We bought Imperial blue ... 55/- per nip and we bought 3 ,managed to save 5 rupees.... next question was were would we party..only near by dhabas( small eatery joints on the outskirts ) are suitable.. so we started to look for the closest on..thats " kargil" few kilometers away....on highway... stretching ourselves on delicate Yamaha.. in scorching sun of May...
When we reached dhaba.. we settled down and asked for the cold water .. that's only what would have come for free....... but here we ran out of luck ... what we were offered was tank full of water in open ground, left with no choice we agreed... this outdoor tanks are usually used for bathing and sanitation ....... in no case water was potable.... so our party started..over three bottles of alcohol....three glasses... little snacks.... and hot water... with suspended particles...

The party went on till we finished all three... bottles... we discussed lot over glass of hot alcohol.. i can hardly recollect any thing... but all three of us still remember our drinking passion....
had vijay mallaya been informed....we could have won bravery award .. for dealing meticulously with our difficult times....Mishra still complains over his mattress funding our religious act of getting drunk... Mishra ... thanks.... Avinash still likes to recall and laugh over it... Kirti do remember it..... for me it is now to share with everybody who comes across it...

The 3 Mistkes of My life... by Chetan Bhagat...

New Delhi, 22nd June 2008.....

Recently i completed new read.. by Chetan Bagat....author of Five Point Some One and One Night At Call Center... Firstly i could read original copy as its available for 95 Rs in stores and if u are authentic miser but still want to own copy for self. then u can bargain it for 75 Rs.. thats lowest.. till date..
I have read all three.. but buy my words.. Five Point... is still the best by Chetan.. I hope he returns to the old flavor soon....
The 3 Mistake is story not about chetan but about 3 friends and revolves around in Ahmedabad....
Since i am presently located in Ahmedabad and had been to all the places mentioned in the read... it was quite relative for me..but any body out of ahmedabad ...its not going to be all that fun...As author fails to explain the 'pols of Ahmedabad" and little details which could have served better purpose...
Any way .. story is all about friend ship, riots, betrayal, Modi Politics and earthquake..
The missing part pf the narrative by Chetan Bhagat is, his signature style of sarcasm... its not appealing.. any way nice read for pastime but not to keep for.....
The best part of the read is when the character of story criticize the life style in pols of Ahmedabad.. how hard you try to make few senior citizens of Ahmedabad understand... but they won't buy your opinion that life in pol is not worth living.. Old city of Ahmedabad need to be redeveloped.... i hope they buy this book or go to pol and stay there of few days ..till they are blessed by their consciousness...........
If you buy this read and t like i .. please it to few Armageddon's of pol... who live in luxurious apartments of new city and travel by car.. adding to fiscal deficit of nation.. may good faith prevail to their soul...
